Editorial: 2019 a year for the defense of Science

Illegal Pesticide Trade Grows in Latin America
Counterfeiting, adulteration and smuggling of crop protection products or pesticides is a crime that affects not only the economy, but also human health and the environment. Despite the warnings, efforts to combat it are still timid, not only because of lack of oversight, but as a result of legal frameworks with little exemplary sanctions, as if they were misdemeanors.
Modern Laws Regulate Agri-technologies
Risk assessment and management, Maximum Residue Limits -MRLs-, and changes in the labeling of crop protection products were the most relevant issues of the regulatory agenda in 2019.
