CropLife Latin America is the international trade association representing the Crop Science Industry. This industry researches and develops agrotechnologies (crop protection, biotechnology, and seeds) that help farmers improve efficiency in crop production for food security.

Our affiliates are seven Research and Development companies and a network of associations in 18 countries across Latin America. The association represents Syngenta, FMC, Bayer, BASF, Sumitomo Chemical, Corteva Agriscience, and Amvac. 

CropLife Latin America and its network of 26 associations work for sustainable and productive agriculture within the framework of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). 

CropLife Latin America is one of the 11 regional associations affiliated with CropLife International, the global federation of the Crop Science Industry
(see Global network).

The industry represented by CropLife Latin America complies with the FAO International Code of Conduct alignments on the Distribution and Utilization of Pesticides. Additionally, the industry has strict ethical and social responsibility parameters, in aspects like quality, respect for public health and environment.

Vision

The industry represented by CropLife Latin America is recognized by its innovation and technology, which promotes a sustainable, productive agriculture, that protects biodiversity and guarantees sufficient food for a growing population.

Mission

Represent the plant science industry by promoting sound legal and science-based regulatory frameworks, to communicate in a transparent way industry’s contributions to innovation, to greater productivity and the advancement towards sustainable agriculture in Latin America.

Our strategic priorities are encompassed in the following lines of work:

  • Advocate CropLife’s views aimed at the adoption of adequate legal frameworks in the regulatory and intellectual property areas, compatible with globally accepted trade standards for Crop Protection, Biotechnology, Biologicals and future emerging technologies.
  • Communicate the contributions of the plant science industry to agriculture and the environment, and promote dialogue with society.
  • Promote effective stewardship programs (CuidAgroSM and CampoLimpioSM) as our contribution to protecting human health biodiversity, and environment.
  • Optimize the operation of the CropLife network to effectively and efficiently achieve the common goals of our members (both member companies and member Associations).
